Muslim burqas not welcome in France

In an AP story headlined on the Drudge Report today, French President Sarkozy declares burqas "not welcome" in France. Sarkozy hopes to codify into law a ban on the traditional Muslim garb that covers women from head to toe. The repression of Muslim women by their male counterparts is about to get some pushback.

There have been some court cases in the US on this issue. Some states are saying that women cannot wear any face cover for drivers license photos or while driving. I have not heard anything on the outcome of those cases. I THINK that there was at least one in Michigan.
