I'm getting fed up with her. Her actions are just hurting the cause at this point, how many strikes should we allow our representatives before they are out?. If all this is not investigated and sanctions imposed to the guilty parties how democrats can hold the moral ground?, and be in any way different than the republicans?. Time to show some spine!

I never would have thought that any democrat has any ethics or morality about them, I was under the impression the party of slavery was immoral, so to expect Reid, Pelosi and Feinstien to be ethical is about the same as the republicans fighting for our rights and freedoms (there I got both of them in)..

What Cause? Mr. Buddha, I would think that cuase is somewhat like Marx wanted it to be or maybe Wilson?

I assure you the Democrats hold no moral ground.

Just an observation about how you guys try to get it both ways:

"The democrats are the party of slavery"

In 1864 the Democrats ran General McClellen for president on the idea that if the South would return to the Union, Slavery would become permanent. This was there platform.

" The problem is the Democrats use lies and deceit to further their cause"

All the above cannot be true. If the Democrats can't be trusted because they lie, they likely had no intention to make slavery permanent. The only reason the democrats were known as the "party of slavery" is because of the 1864 presidential campaign.
They were lying. It wasn't going to happen.

Even stretching things significantly one can't compare 1864 to 2009 as equals.

Letzrock,
you missed something there, when I say party of slavery, I mean that they used the slaver issue to further their cause after the war. following that, they have been the party to come up with the most enslaving programs than anyone else, starting with Wilson who wanted to enslave the people by getting rid of the Constitution, to FDR who gave us the New Deal or actually the NRA which was so restrictive that it was hard to believe we actually had it and to Kennedy/Johnson who gave us the civil rights act, the war on poverty and immigration reform.

Tie the past of the party with today's version of it and you get a more specific party who wants to erode the Constitution to the point it is worthless. We already have the head of our homeland defensive organization, DHS coming out and saying what the democrats have been saying all along - the people who invade our country are not criminals.

With the twisted thinking of the party, with the rewriting of the congressional rules to shut down opposition, and the more and more legislation from congress that is harmful to our country, no one can say that the party is not the party of slavery.

I don't know if I would call your description slavery exactly..
I will say this though: There is no question the democrats recruit the lower classes for all the various programs so as to "keep them on the nipple" so to speak. The democrats were known as the "party of slavery" from the 1864 issue whether or not 1864 issues are relevent to 2009.

OK letzrock,
here is another thing that I am very upset over because it is a personal issue for me.

The democrats want an open border, they know that this promotes drug trafficking but also human trafficking. They have blocked every effort to actually close the border, using excuses that these people need to make money and provide for their family and the same old bull since 1965.

Now the issue of drugs is not my concern but of human trafficking is. There are hundreds of people who are forced to come here to work as prostitutes or as workers in these shops in unlivable conditions. They are forced to come here, while others come here through Mexico to start a better life but get trapped here to pay off a debt.

I know a few who have been brought here to work as sex slaves (I mean with beatings, drugged up and restrained), it happens here a lot more than people want to admit but it is all because of one issue - the border. It is not just a Mexican issue, the open border allows the Russian and Chinese to use it to bring people in. One girl I know had her family actually held hostage in her home country (not Mexico) until her debt was paid off. When she was caught by the INS, the INS wanted to deport her but my friends stepped in and represented her and got her through the court system to allow her to stay here. They also paid for the release of her family in her country and got them here. I am not putting a lot of details for a reason.

To me this is a real problem of this party, they have been fighting over the border so not to close it so to garner support for their programs in the Hispanic community but at the same time preventing the Hispanic community from flourish through taking part of our country properly. The people who come here as invaders are also trapped by a system that doesn't allow them the proper access to the workforce or protects the people from abuse in the workplace.

Now if they know all of this takes place, they block efforts in trying to close the border in order not just to protect the country but to protect the people coming over and they pull the BS of making citizens out of the people are criminals that do these things, then wouldn't you say this is the party of slavery?

I'm totally with you on closed borders. I am against drug and human trafficking. Asian spas are big offenders all over Ohio for trafficking in humans. open borders obviously allow for people from many places access to the US. I do favor some kind of registration though so that the productive illegals can stay, in essence making them "legal". Many on this forum complain about these individuals taking away jobs. I disagree. They work jobs that others here either don't want or can't competently perform...

It is more like don't want to do, many will work but like my wife's nephews - they are just too good to work at McDonalds.

The idea that there are jobs American can't do is the mantra of the group who wants open borders which is actually a lie. There are jobs that are much harder and a lot more dangerous that Americans do every day and it isn't picking lettuce.

I look at the democratic party and its members and ask why would they put people though hell to gain this type of power. I am of the opinion that serving the people is a privilege, not a career and combining the two thoughts, I can't help but think that the party is the party of modern day slavery.

Agreed, but imagine what kind of ego it must take to even want to be a local politician, let alone congressman, senator or President of the United States. The intensity of power hunger has to be just white hot. It doesn't even occur to them that it's a priviledge. In their minds it's some rung to surpass to validate their supreme existence...by whatever means necessary. That goes for both parties.

If the government is so bent on spending money on infrasturture why not help the farmers upgrade to the new technolgy the latest pickers , shakers and planters...These machines are very expensive......this would eliminate the need for so many illegals and they could afford to pay better wages...and jobs Americans can do...and it would be more productive.

Letzrock,
There used to be something called ethics, and most of the time it was the driving force behind limitations of people. Washington comes to mind who kept power in check. I think it is the weak who rule right now.

But you don't get the fact that they want these people here, it helps the unions once they are citizens.

Here's something I found in an e-mail from a friend today - a political cartoon from the Chicago Tribune in 1934. Odd how timely it is today.
