In Indiana we have a primary election and not a caucus. What is the caucus, who does it, and how does it work?

Well I may be wrong about this but the definition for a caucus is; “A caucus is most generally defined as a meeting of supporters or members of a political party or movement.”
In Iowa, there is, I think 98 or 99 districts (there are over 1600 locations that they go to within the state) where they actually determine who they send to the state and national conventions, it really is not a selection process for a candidate per se but a selection of a representative to send to tell the convention who they want to see as a presidential candidate.
This entire process combined with the primaries themselves is a real waste of tax payer’s money and there is a lot of criticism that the primaries disenfranchise people. Oh lets not forget the process is not constitutional and not part of the election process our founding fathers envisioned for us.

I am not a political person and I really don't know what a caucus is...but if you watch enough tv.. it looks like IOWA is going to elect the next president.. (LOL). I know it's not

No bashing here....you're right, the press has made such a big deal out of this, one would think that any votes outside of Iowa are rendered useless!!! LOL
