It's almost show time!

The 2007 Expedite Expo is almost upon us and this event on July 27-28 is shaping up to be the best one yet.  With over 100 exhibitors occupying the over 50,000 square feet of the Roberts Convention Centre display floor, attendees will discover something of interest for everyone!

The Expo's General Manager, Lawrence McCord says, "The show has taken on a life of its own.  Every year, it grows and finds an ever-expanding audience.  We're very proud of what it has become - an important industry gathering, a job fair, an educational venue and an event that the expedited trucking community can call its own."

A little Expo history
From its modest beginnings in the parking lot of the Detroiter truckstop to the serious undertaking it has become, the Expedite Expo has surpassed all expectations.

2001 was the inaugural year for Expedite Expo - the first and only show of its kind for the expedited trucking industry. Exhibitors and attendees from over twenty states participated in the 2001 show. 

In 2002, the second year of the Expo, several new features were added to the event's line-up, including the Expediter Workshops and an outdoor music concert to entertain the attendees and exhibitors after a busy day of exhibiting. 

The 2003 event witnessed an expansion with the exhibit area growing to twice the original size.  The Expediter Workshop lineup was also increased twofold.  Attendees came from 30 states and 3 Canadian provinces.

For 2004, trucking radio legend Dave Nemo was on hand to broadcast live, hourly Expo updates to his North American XM satellite radio audience.  This was also a record-breaking year, with attendance doubling from 2001.  

Registered attendees from 36 states and Canada participated in the 2005 event.  Truck manufacturers and dealers from across the US showcased their products and several dealers selected the Expo to introduce several new models and major enhancements to their sleepers and engine options.

In 2006, two significant changes occurred.  The show was relocated from Metro Detroit to the heartland of Ohio with an accompanying move indoors to the beautiful Roberts Convention Centre in Wilmington, Ohio.  The show dates were also changed to Friday and Saturday, which expanded the attendance to new record levels.

The 2007 Expedite Expo
From light bulbs to liftgates, from APU's to OOIDA, there's something for everyone at this event.  The Expo exhibitors include top-name expedited carriers, service and equipment providers, trucking insurance providers, technology companies, expedited truck dealers; in short, all of the vendors whose goods and services are essential to the owner-operators and drivers in this segment of trucking.

Is the grass greener? 
That's a question many owner-operators must answer when considering a change to another carrier.  The Expedite Expo provides the perfect opportunity to meet face-to-face with a number of carrier recruiters and compare the offerings of various companies.  All in one place at one time.

Education and new strategies
The Expediter Workshop series will appear on both days of the Expo with a variety of topics covered.  Whether you're a veteran in the business or a prospective expedite owner-operator, the Workshops are THE events to attend - for basic information, for business tips, for enhancement of your bottom line. And, the Workshops are admission-free!

There will be presentations that cover truck maintenance, insurance, financing and other topics affecting your business.  On Saturday the Workshops will feature the very popular roundtable discussion hosted by Ellen Voie of Schneider National . Make your plans to attend the Expediter Workshops!

Music, music, music
If you think that the Expo is all business, well, you'd be wrong.  The 2007 Expedite Expo will offer trucking music from the always popular Joey Holiday, bluegrass and roots music from Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers and a new artist from Nashville, Jennifer Anderson.

The Expo will be going live and on the air when trucking radio legend Dave Nemo does his XM satellite radio (the Open Road Channel 171) reports from the show.  This is Dave's 6th year of covering the show and he invites his fans and listeners to stop by and say hello!

Kickin' the tires
Can we all agree that truck drivers love trucks?  And that when truck drivers attend a trucking show they want to see trucks and lots of 'em?
