Expedite Expo 2007 will feature the Speedco Supertruck Driveaway Sweepstakes - a world-class promotion that is second to none!

In conjunction with Speedco Quick Lube and Tire Service Centers, Indiana Truck Sales, Bolt Express, Alumi-Bunk Corporation and ExpeditersOnline.com, the Expedite Expo in Wilmington, Ohio will hold the drawing for the Speedco Supertruck on Saturday, July 28. 

In addition to the Grand Prize of the Supertruck, first, second and third place winners will be drawn for prizes that includes:

First prize - A Set of Yokohama Tires
Second Prize - Speedco Preventive Maintenance for 1 year.
Third Prize - A $500 Shell Fuel card.

Not bad, huh?  And all you have to do is enter.  There's no purchase necessary!

The background
At the conclusion of the 2006 Expo, the show's General Manager, Lawrence McCord, made his decision to go all out for the 2007 event.  He had long wanted to feature a truck giveaway contest at the Expo and when he saw the overwhelming acceptance and popularity of the Chrome Shop Mafia from TV's "Trick My Truck," he knew that he had to put the two concepts together.

When McCord contacted the companies that ultimately signed on as sponsors of the project, he was gratified by their enthusiasm for the endeavor.  Indiana Truck Sales responded with the donation of a truck, Alumi-Bunk contributed a van body and Speedco provided the major funding for the customization by the Chrome Shop Mafia.

Bryan Martin, the "Bossman" of the Chrome Shop Mafia, says that performing the makeover on this ten-wheeler posed a special challenge to the "Boyz" - this was the first expediter they had created!

After the mechanical and body work was done, it was time to apply the special paint job that sets this truck apart from all others.  This duty was assigned to the Mafia's wizard of the paint gun and airbrush, Ryno.  A total of over 400 man hours went into the Supertruck's incredible custom painting and striping job that features a drag-racing theme.

The result was the world's wildest expediter ride, the Speedco Supertruck!

The spec's
This 2000 Mack CX613 Class 8 truck sits on a 317" wheelbase, twin-screw Airide chassis. Powered by a Mack 460HP engine mated to a Mack Super 10 trans, the Airide cab is equipped with a single bed, A/C w/controls in sleeper, power windows and power locks, tilt and telescoping wheel, cruise control, dual Airide seats, AM/FM, XM, CD, power mirrors, carpet in cab and sleeper and Mack Elite interior.

The tour
After the Supertruck's world debut at the Mid America Trucking Show, it left on a tour of Speedco locations and expedited carriers with veteran driver Rich Moore behind the wheel.

Moore says of the experience, "I drove the truck about 10,000 miles, displayed it at 40 locations and it has made me a class 8 convert.  The Supertruck just purrs along, gets about 9-10 mpg and doesn't know what a hill is!"

Moore goes on to say that the truck shouts, "Look at me!"

"It's definitely an attention-getter," he explains.  "I really enjoyed seeing people's reactions to it as well as meeting all the folks who came out to see the truck."

The Sweepstakes
Through June 27, drivers were able to register to win the Supertruck at tour locations, as well as at all Speedco locations across the United States, and at any Alumi-Bunk location.

Six finalists were selected in a random drawing and will receive an all expenses paid trip to the Expedite Expo in Wilmington, Ohio, July 27 and 28.

An additional six finalists will be selected in a random drawing during the Expo from all eligible Expo attendees.

Each finalist will receive a key to the Supertruck and during the final award presentation on Saturday July 28, the finalist whose key starts the Supertruck wins the grand prize.

In addition to the Supertruck Sweepstakes, the Expo features a range of attractions for current expediters and prospective expediters as well.

Expo visitors can vote for their favorite truck exhibited by a truck dealer in the Progressive Expedite Drivers Choice Award.  Their ballot is also their entry form and the lucky winner of a drawing will pocket a tidy $1,000.00!

Seminars
The Expo has scheduled two full days of Expediter Workshop sessions with industry experts who will speak on topics ranging from "What is Expediting?" to "Truck Maintenance."  And, admission is free!
