Plover, WI:  Eleven year old Allison French occasionally accompanies her grandpa, Mike Crawford as he delivers freight for Prime, Inc.

She looks forward to the day when she is old enough to earn her CDL and become a professional driver. As they travel, Allison listens to the radio with Grandpa Mike, and one day she heard Ellen Voie talking about Women In Trucking Association on Sirius’ Road Dog Trucking. Allison told her Grandpa Mike that she was a woman in trucking and wanted to be a member of the organization.

Allison's grandfather agreed that she was indeed, a woman in trucking, and he immediately signed her up as the newest, and youngest (student) member!

When he called the toll free number to join, he talked to membership director Char Pingel and asked if he could also purchase a membership for one of his favorite women staffers at Prime.

Then, Mike said that he would become a member too if Women In Trucking would throw in a free membership for another Prime employee, in a “Buy two, get one free” deal.

Char liked the idea, and gave Mike an extra adult membership and decided to make this offer available to everyone for a limited time.

So, to encourage new membership growth through the month of June, you will be able to buy two individual memberships and get one free! This offer is for both drivers and non-drivers (but excludes corporate memberships.)

If you wish to purchase a membership for your friends, family or co-workers, just call Char at 888-464-9482 and tell her you want the June special and buy two - get one free. Be ready with the names and addresses, and of course, have your credit card handy. If you want a gift message sent to the recipient, just let Char know and we can notify them of your generosity.

As a member, you and your friends will receive a membership lapel pin, bimonthly newsletters, invitations to networking events, and special member only discounts and offers. Most importantly, you will be helping to educate and mentor women who are already involved or are interested in a career in the trucking industry.

Women In Trucking was established to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize  obstacles faced by women in trucking. Its members are composed of both women and men and include corporate as well as individual opportunities for participation.
