The Women In Trucking Association’s board of directors unanimously approved Jeff Hammonds, vice president of Wal-Mart Transportation in Bentonville, AR, as its newest board member. Hammonds fills the board seat vacated by Lana Batts, who resigned earlier this year to focus her efforts at Transport Capital Partners.

“Wal-Mart has already shown their dedication to our mission,” said Ellen Voie, President/CEO of Women In Trucking. “With Jeff’s involvement at the board level, we hope to use his knowledge of the industry and his desire for a better driver environment to help us achieve our goals.”

Women In Trucking was established in 2007. Since its inception, it has grown to 1,300 members, both corporate and individual.
