OMAHA, Neb. — The top four executives at trucking company Werner Enterprises Inc. will share more than $1 million in cash bonuses.

The Omaha-based company says in documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission it will pay the bonuses on Monday.

Werner's efforts to improve efficiency and offer other services besides trucking have helped the company weather the recession. In the third quarter, Werner reported $22.4 million net income, which was a 3 percent increase over the previous year.

Werner Chairman Clarence Werner and President and CEO Gregory Werner will both receive $350,000 bonuses.

Vice Chairman Gary Werner will receive a $230,000 bonus. And Chief Financial Officer John Steele will receive a $100,000 bonus.
