U.S. diesel price drops 2.8 cents
The national average price of a gallon of diesel fell again last week.
In the week ended Jan. 26, the national average price dropped 2.8 cents to $2.268. The price is 99 cents less than a year ago.
Since
its record high of $4.764 announced July 14, the weekly national
average has dropped $2.50, down 52 percent from the peak price.
For
the latest week, average prices declined in all regions tracked by the
U.S. Department of Energy. New England continues to have the most
expensive average diesel price at $2.59, while the Gulf Coast is the
cheapest at $2.20.
