Truckers rescue victims from fiery crash scene

Two truckers are credited with saving the lives of two injured people who were trapped in a burning car in Blendon Township, MI, on Monday, June 30.

The Associated Press reported the victims were in a Lexus that had collided with a Jeep Wagoneer on a city street and that the Lexus caught fire on impact. Five people were reportedly injured.

According to local media reports, the two truckers who stopped and rushed to rescue the two who were trapped were William Rozema of Holland, MI, and Derek Bockheim of Grand Rapids, MI. Using their fire extinguishers and a crowbar to pry doors open they managed to get the victims out just as the car was being engulfed in fire.
