Texas leads Pride & Polish winners
When
Overdrive’s
Pride & Polish awards ceremony concluded last Saturday at the Great American Trucking Show, the winners list contained many trucks and names new to competition, including several from Texas.
“We had nearly 50 custom rigs here at the Great American Trucking Show,†said Diana Owens, the overseer of show-truck registrations and the awards list. “There’s quite a contingency from Texas and a number of new builds. What surprised us was the level of quality of the Texans showed here at Pride & Polish.â€
This year’s Pride & Polish set a new level for creativity and quality according to many truck beauty show regulars and the Pride & Polish organizing staff.
“What we saw here this weekend is an incredible number of really fine custom rigs from everyday working rigs to the all-out custom rigs,†says Bruce Smith, editor of Custom Rigs.
Show attendees had a chance to scope out rigs built by the Texas Chrome Shop (Project 1) and Chrome Shop Mafia (Ivy’s Poison), as well as working-class combos owned by Lindamood Demolition, Farmer’s Oil, Hall’s Trucking, Z-Bar Transportation and Jade Transport, to name a few.
