Small plane hits truck during emergency landing
VERNAL, Utah — A small plane crashed into a tractor-trailer while making an emergency landing on a road in eastern Utah.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the pilot reported engine trouble and was landing on U.S. 191 near Vernal when it collided with the truck Wednesday. The left wing was sheared off and the front of the plane spun into the trailer.
The pilot and his teenage son were treated and released from a local hospital.
The truck driver was not injured.
The Federal Aviation Administration is trying to determine what caused the engine trouble and emergency landing.
