Sharp increases for U.S. diesel prices
Average U.S. diesel prices jumped this week, surging 7.5 cents to $2.625 a gallon, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
The average price of a gallon of diesel remains $1.728 less than last summer when prices jumped to close to $5 a gallon.
Prices rose in all regions tracked by DOE. The least expensive region is the Rocky Mountain area at $2.573, and the most costly is California at $2.842.
