DETROIT — Dozens of protesters including some from the Detroit spinoff of the Occupy Wall Street movement blocked traffic on part of the Ambassador Bridge for about an hour.

The Detroit News reports the protesters formed a human chain Thursday in front of a truck entrance to the bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. Other participants included members of advocacy group Bridge Watch Detroit and Democratic state Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Detroit.

Protesters including those from Occupy Detroit voiced their opposition to those who blocked plans last week in Lansing to build a publicly supported bridge. The private owners of the Ambassador Bridge already spanning the Detroit River are among those against a second bridge.

Detroit police monitored the protest and said no arrests were made.
