Pilot opened a new travel center today in Brooklyn, Iowa, off Interstate 80 at exit 201. The new, 10,350-square-foot facility features five fuel islands and seven diesel islands as well as a restaurant and other convenience items.
“We hope that Brooklyn area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenient location of our new travel center,†said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Travel Centers. “We expect that this brand new food and fuel stop will meet the travel and business needs of our customers and the community.â€
The travel center includes a Subway restaurant; an ATM; fax and copy services; lottery and lotto games; laundry services; a deli; and an expanded grill area with Oscar Mayer hot dogs.
“We believe our familiar Pilot sign will be a welcome sight for interstate travelers and professional drivers. They’ll want to pull off to fill up, refresh and sample some of our featured food items,†said Jeff Haney, general manager for the Brooklyn location. “Our drink bar features a variety of flavor splashes, iced coffees, frozen drinks, brewed tea, milkshakes and a wide selection of Pilot’s best-anywhere gourmet coffees, including Pilot’s house coffee, which was recently named the ‘Best Coffee on the Interstate’ by the readers of Truckers News.â€
In addition to diesel fuel, professional drivers will have access to such services as a CAT scale and five showers.
