OOIDA, Volvo, recognize drivers for safe driving records

OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association and program sponsor Volvo Trucks North America for truck driving excellence:

John D. Hill of Kewanee, IL, has been recognized for 30 years of safe, accident-free driving. Doug Thee of St. Joseph, MO, has been recognized for 17 years of safe, accident-free driving. Doug currently hauls pork and produce. Hatley Wright of Baskerville, VA, has been recognized for 17 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls carnival equipment and general freight. Michael MacPherson of Woodstock, Ontario, has been recognized for 13 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls meat, produce, paper and other general freight. Jesse L. Wood of Lack Jackson, TX, has been recognized for 11 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently pulls a flatbed and hauls general freight. Harold E. Parker of Danville, IN, has been recognized for 10 years of safe, accident-free driving. Will E. Applegate of Kansas City, MO, has been recognized for four years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls meat, cheese, ice cream and numerous other refrigerated or frozen products. Chris S. Higgins of Secaucus, NJ, has been recognized for two years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls general freight.
The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
