National diesel average drops 1.6 cents to $2.185 per gallon
The average price for fuel dropped slightly – 1.6 cents – this past week to average $2.185 per gallon.
This is the second straight week fuel prices have dipped, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s report on Monday, May 4.
A year ago this same week, fuel prices had shot up to average $4.149 per gallon nationwide.
All nine regions are reporting decreases at the pump. This includes a 1.8-cent drop in both the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions, to put the price at $2.127 and $2.154 respectively.
Despite a 1.3-cent per gallon drop, the New England region still boosts the highest fuel average at $2.382 per gallon.
