Man jailed after 65 pounds of weed found in truck
LANSING,
Mich. — A Detroit man faces felony charges after 65 pounds of marijuana
was found during an inspection of a tractor-trailer at a weigh station
in Jackson County.
The Michigan State Police announced the bust Wednesday. The man, whose name wasn't released, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after being taken into custody on an oustanding arrest warrant from Wayne County.
A subsequent search of the truck at the Grass Lake Scales along eastbound Interstate 94 led to the discovery of the marijuana.
The driver was being held at the Jackson County Jail Wednesday pending an arraignment.
Police say the seized drugs were transported from the West Coast. The estimated street value is $200,000 to $400,000.
