On Tuesday, July 1, motor carriers, brokers, freight forwarders and leasing companies who have failed to register with the Unified Carrier Registration Program became subject to fines.

While the fines differ from state to state, Cathy Koncilia in the OOIDA’s Business Services Department said she and other staff have heard about hefty fines in some states.

For example, Koncilia said that truckers subject to the registration requirement have reported fines of $300 in Oklahoma. They have not, however, reported being put out of service in that state for failure to register.

OOIDA members who haven’t registered yet can do so by visiting the UCR Web site by clicking here or by calling OOIDA at 1-800-444-5791.
