Landstar Taps New Chief Operating Officer Duo

Landstar has appointed Jim Handoush and Pat O'Malley as co-chief operating officers, effective immediately.

In the new role, Handoush will handle the company's newly acquired supply chain transportation integration companies, Premier Logistics and A3 Integration, Landstar's warehousing, intermodal and international service offerings as well as national and international account development. O'Malley will cover Landstar's field organization, agency and capacity development as well as all over-the-road operations.

"I believe the functional changes created by this new structure will enable the marketplace to properly identify Landstar as a 'one-stop shop' provider of transportation logistics services and solutions," said Henry Gerkens, president and CEO.

O'Malley has been with Landstar since 1985, serving in various positions, including operations coordinator, director of fleet management, vice president of safety, executive vice president of operations with the Carrier Group, and, most recently, president of the Landstar Carrier Group.

Handoush was brought on in 1996 as Landstar Logistics vice president of finance. He has also served as Global Logistics executive vice president of finance and administration and, most recently, president of Landstar Global Logistics.
