International LoneStar named truck of the year by truck dealers
American Truck Dealers has named the LoneStar its first ATD Commercial Truck of the Year. The LoneStar was chosen by a judging panel of journalists from leading truck publications in North America, including
Land Line’s
Senior Technical Editor Paul Abelson.
The announcement came during ATD’s 2009 convention in Washington, DC. The LoneStar beat out the Freightliner Cascadia, the Kenworth T660, the Mack Titan and the Peterbilt Model 386 for the honor.
Speaking during the convention, past ATD Chairman George Grask said the LoneStar was chosen because of its design, innovation, quiet cab and space utilization.
The LoneStar was chosen by a judging panel of journalists from leading truck publications in North America. This was only the first year for the award. Next year, there will be two awards: one for class 8 heavy-duty trucks, and one for medium-duty trucks in classes 3 through 7.
