I-65 becomes first 'Biofuels Corridor'
I-65 is being touted as America's first "biofuels corridor," with E85
ethanol-blend gasoline and B20 biodiesel-blend diesel available all
along the interstate route.
Biodiesel blends are available the entire length of the Interstate, from Gary, Ind., to Mobile, Ala.
According to published reports, this is the result of a $1.3 million
federal project that involved Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama,
the four states through which I-65 travels. In 2005, there were no E85
or B20 fueling stations along I-65. With the completion of this
project, there are 31 refueling stations easily accessible from the
Interstate, with more planned.
