CHATHAM, Ont. -- Several roadside facilities and truckstops across Ontario are being closed for updates this summer.

According to local media, the eastbound Highway 401 service centre is one of three so far to be shut down for construction of a new facility.

Others currently being rebuilt are at Bainsville near the Ontario-Quebec border and at Morrisburg between Prescott and Cornwall.

The Ontario Ministry of Transport announced earlier this year that many of its 23 service centres along Highways 400 and 401 will be modernized over the next five years.
