A year ago this week, truckers were paying nearly $4 per gallon at the pump for diesel.

However, on Monday, March 16, the U.S. Energy Information Administration is reporting that fuel prices dipped another 2.8 cents per gallon to average $2.017 per gallon. Three regions of the country are reporting fuel averages below the $2 mark, including the Midwest, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions.

This is the ninth straight week fuel prices have dropped by a few pennies.

All nine regions are again reporting drops in diesel averages. Fuel is selling for an average of $1.964 per gallon in the Midwest, while the New England region is again reporting the highest fuel prices of all regional averages at $2.403 per gallon.

Below are the regional prices for ULSD reported by the Department of Energy. To see a map of the states in each of the listed regions, click here.
