Diesel prices drop slightly for third straight week to $2.787

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is reporting that the average price for diesel fuel has dropped another three-tenths of a cent to average $2.787 per gallon.

This marks the third straight week that diesel prices have dropped slightly around the country, according to the EIA’s report on Monday, Nov. 23.

A year ago this week, diesel was selling for around $2.910 per gallon.

Six of the nine regions in the country are reporting slight decreases at the pump, except for the New England region, where the price remained unchanged from a week ago. Slight increases were reported in the Gulf Coast region, where diesel rose four-tenths of a cent, and in the Rocky Mountain region, where fuel inched up five-tenths of a cent to $2.823 per gallon.

The California region is still reporting the highest diesel prices at $2.954, despite a one-cent drop from a week ago, while fuel prices are still the lowest in the Gulf Coast region at $2.738.
