Diesel falls 3.6 cents to $2.291 to start year
Diesel prices continue to decline with today’s price falling to $2.291 per gallon from $2.327 per gallon last week, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The weekly on-highway diesel price reflects a drop of $1.085 from the same week in January 2008.
All regions showed a drop with the exception of the West Coast which rose $0.002 per gallon to $2.275 a gallon.
The least expensive place to buy a gallon of diesel is the Rocky Mountain region ($2.215), with the most expensive price per gallon in the New England region ($2.596).
California’s average per gallon today is $2.239, a drop of $0.002 per gallon, and down $1.287 from one year ago.
