DIESEL DROPS another 4.3 cents to average $2.087 nationwide
Fuel prices continued to drop around the country as the national diesel average dipped another 4.3 cents per gallon to average $2.087 per gallon at the pump.
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s report on Monday, March 2, this is the seventh straight week the national average price for fuel has dropped.
The price is down more than $1.57 per gallon from this same week in 2008, when fuel averaged $3.666 per gallon.
All nine regions are again reporting drops in diesel prices at the pump. The Midwest region is reporting the lowest average price at $2.034 per gallon, followed closely by the Gulf Coast region, which is averaging $2.043 per gallon. The New England region is again reporting the highest fuel prices of all regional averages at $2.472 per gallon.
