NEW ALBANY, Ohio — Commercial Vehicle Group Inc. has been awarded a new contract to provide several different CVG interior products for Daimler Trucks North America LLC, a Daimler company.

Under the contract, CVG’s Dublin, Va. and Statesville, N.C., facilities will supply headliners for use in Daimler’s Freightliner Cascadia model and miscellaneous interior trim moldings for the Freightliner FLD model.

CVG will ship the parts to Daimler’s production centers located in Cleveland, N.C.; Saltillo, Mexico; and Santiago, Mexico. A phased-in start up of production for the Daimler products is targeted to begin at the end of April and is expected to be in full production by the end of May.

“Certainly, this additional business is welcome during these difficult economic times. We are pleased that Daimler, a long-term partner with CVG, selected us for this new business award,” Mervin Dunn, CVG president and CEO, said. “It demonstrates their comfort with the strength and reliability of our company as well as the value of the products we produce and will help strengthen our competitive position through capacity utilization over the long-term.”

Based on current North American Class 8 Truck build rates, CVG anticipates this contract will provide an annualized revenue increase of approximately $6 million.

Commercial Vehicle Group’s products include suspension seat systems, interior trim systems, such as instrument and door panels, headliners, cabinetry, molded products and floor systems, cab structures and components, mirrors, wiper systems, electronic wiring harness assemblies and controls and switches specifically designed for applications in commercial vehicle cabs.
