Busy Senate calendar delays committee vote on Ferro until Tuesday
WASHINGTON — The wait was almost over, but late Thursday, the day a Senate committee was scheduled to vote on Anne Ferro's nomination to become the next administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the vote was delayed until Tuesday.
Sources said a busy Senate calendar Thursday necessitated the delay, the announcement of which came came about 4:45 p.m. EDT after a long day of business in the Senate.
The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee had been expected to recommend Anne Ferro to head the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and send the nomination to the full Senate for consideration.
