Cordell_1.jpgBolt Express and the Expedite Industry have lost a significant partner.  On Saturday, February 18th, Curtis Cordell passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52 in his home in St. Helen, Michigan.

Curtis was an amazing individual.  He was partnered with Bolt Express since 2004.  He was Bolt’s first Tractor Owner Operator.  Curtis was a friend to the team at Bolt.  He shared stories about his life, time on the road, and stories about what he enjoyed when he wasn’t on a load.  Many recall Curt’s stories about fishing and hunting, and how he had a way to make people smile, just by being around.

“Curt was not only a great business man who knew how to run a successful business in the expedite market, but he was a friend.  Curt would stop by the office and say, “Well Mark, I’m headed to the cabin for a little R&R.”  I used to kid him about the amount of time he was taking just to catch a fish; sometimes a month or two, and he would often share his fishing stories once he returned.  Curt was exactly what you look for in an Owner Operator.  We will miss him.”

“When I first started, he helped me learn the lingo, and was extremely patient and thoughtful because he knew I was still learning.  He was a very kind person and went out of his way to be nice to others and help someone when they needed it.  Whenever he stopped by the office, he always made me smile, and he didn’t even have to say anything!  He was just that good of a person, inside and out, that it just made you smile whenever he was in your presence.  This is such a loss, not only for Bolt, but for everyone who knew Curt.  He was truly a phenomenal person”
