Wreaths Across America Sat Dec 11 at 12 noon

THe holiday season is almost here. This years holiday wreath laying ceremony is Sat Dec 11 at 12 noon at National Cemetaries all across America. The wreath convoy to Arlington National Cemetary leaves Maine Dec 5th and arrives at Arlington Dec 11. THis year the goal is to have 1 full truck load of wreaths to all 50 states and they are looking for help from companies and drivers to transport wreaths and also people to help place wreaths on graves at a National and State Cemetary near you www.wreathsacrossamerica.org

Yes it is a good cause I have helped lay wreaths at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary in St Louis, planning on doing it this year

Update volunteers are still needed across the country at National and State cemetaries and donations are accepted for this years deadline is Nov 29th. You can purchase a wreath for a loved one or sponsor a wreath to be put on a grave at a veteran cemetary and all proceeds are donated to wreathacrossamerica.org. Looks like over 50 big trucks will be taking part in the wreath escort to Arlington National Cemetary

Update with just over 3 weeks to go looks like they are little over 1/2 way to the goal of 1 full truck to all 50 states. Anyone can sponsor a wreath for $15 wreathsacrossamerica.org

This morning I ordered the Patriotic Pair Wreaths 1 is for my dad a US Marine in WW2 and is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary in St Louis and the 2 nd wreath I also had sent to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary

You dont have to make a donation if you dont want to. just hope you can spare a couple hours of your time to go to one of the locations listed on the website to help place wreaths on the graves or at least pass the word around to others like your family, friends,co workers, etc

This Monday 11/29/2010 is the deadline for this years fund raising for this years Wreaths Across America at Arlington and other National/State Veterans Cemetaries across the country on Dec 11 and hopefullly reach the goal of at least 1 full truck of wreaths to all 50 states
