If your back hasn't improved any by now, you probably need to have it looked at. Don't be stubborn like I was.

Not that I'm an expert, but send me a pm on what it feels like and I can at least tell you if it's the same as mine.

Probably be a few more weeks before I can travel as far as Taylor, but that is high on my lists of things to do.

So glad to hear that you are doing well. We look forward to meeting you again. Met you briefly when you were over at TriState

Thank you. I thought you're pic looked familiar. I seem to remember meeting you at an orientation that I had a new driver in, but I may be wrong.

Glad to see you here at Load 1.

Went to the doc this morning. All is well with the healing process. Most restrictions lifted, so I am no longer a prisoner in the house. Now the strengthening phase starts.

Asked him the 64k question about driving and after 10 minutes of dancing around the question, he said I could but with a few modifications. Docs seem unable to give straight answers anymore.

Go back to the doc in May for the final follow up, but I'll be moving long before that.

Kinda got the same thing going on. Can't get a straight answer. CYA is what's going on!

Glad to see your up and around.

Your best bet, hire a vet! Please.

CYA Big Time..... Finally got him by saying that if he didn't give me some idea of how to protect myself from re-injury that he wasn't doing his job as a doc. He still danced around, but I got what I needed.

Back in the day you got a straight "Don't do that again" answer. Can't see how the "new way" is better.

Repeat business goes away if they tell you what not to do! For most, its all about the money. My primary care doc told me something the other day that blew my mind. A specialist in what ever field in medicine has to do x number of surgeries per a specific period of time to maintain the "specialist" title. For example, an orthopedic surgeon might have to 6 knee replacements in a year. (just an example, don't know the real number.) I can understand being required to be up to date with the latest technology and not wanting a surgeon to get rusty. But to me, that could result in some unnecessary surgeries.

Now that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!!!!

However, I don't think this guy will be getting rusty any time soon. He's one of the premier neurosurgeons here, and he has his own surgical suite. I think his hesitation stemmed from the fact that he didn't know the actual cause of the disc rupture. Once he realized I understood that, he answered my questions although there were a lot of "maybe's" in his answers.
