For expediting, it would be the large carriers.
No particular order
This applies to straight trucks and TT's. I wouldn't even consider it if doing a van

Panther
Fedex
Landstar
and maybe Conway?? Not sure how well they do on outbound loads from the west coast.

Many of the smaller carriers go out there, but can't bring you back with a load.

I talked to ConWay this morning they said msot of their freight is east of mississippi.
I talked to LandStar and they want 6 mos experience and Class B.
I would like to do straight truck as opposed to tractor-trailer so I don't have so much overhead and have to deal with the added expenses of running a big rig.
Really looking at a CLass C to start.
But only want to run west coast or southwest.
It seems as though if you take side loads you have to give the company 10-15% of revenue, which seems OK as they give you discounted insurance and plates, etc, any exceptions to this?

Panther has the best system for this. Landstar lets you find your own loads as well but I believe they still require 6 months current experience in what you will driving.
