South Dakota farmers have donated 500 gallons of milk to the Community Food Banks of South Dakota in response to the recent PETA protest in Rapid City.
Ag United, a collaboration of farm organizations that support livestock production and development, will match the contribution and donate another 500 gallons for families throughout the state.
Last week, a PETA representative dressed as a cow protested the state’s dairy industry by dumping a mixture of water and corn starch from jugs labeled “MILK” into a trash can at a downtown intersection.
