What if UPS picks up your laptop for service

According to John McPhee who has written a book called "Uncommon Carrier" Your lap top is sent to the UPS hub in Louisville Ky. It is then tore down by UPS employees,fixed, and returned to you.

Toshiba was mentioned as one of the companies doing this but UPS is bound not to reveal there identities.

Well at least the work is done here and not in India.(that will probably be next)

So this is what happened to my laptop that disapeared in transit. They couldn't fix it and said they lost it.

You know what if your Laptop does not need fixing? how do they know that it needs fixn'?
