Verizon sells spectrum to AT&T

Why would the two big boys on the block be worried about an also-ran? Sprint's data plan is good, but that's the only thing they have going for them. Their network sucks, both in coverage and data speed. I've tried them a couple times and always ended up returning the phone during the trial period.

Worried that sprint might give cell phones a bad name would be about the only thing.

I have 2 smart phones on Verizon and 1 on Sprint, without question Verizon is far better for me but the majority of the country doesn't travel for a living. In a place where both phones have 4G LTE the service and data is great for both but Sprint is still selling an unlimited data plan which customers will start choosing over the chance of overage. If you watch the financial news you will also see Sprint is making some major business moves which will make it a much more viable option as they convert and increase their 4G LTE coverage.
