UPS will cut an unspecified number of jobs at its supply-chain unit, laying off some employees and reassigning others, Bloomberg reported Friday.

The layoffs at UPS Supply Chain Solutions affect mostly administrative and technical staff in North America, Bloomberg reported, quoting UPS spokeswoman Susan Rosenberg.

UPS expects to complete the reorganization by the end of the year, Bloomberg said.

Note: Oh boy, more available freight for those carriers who actually know something about the business!

A few months ago I picked up at the UPS facility across the road from the truck entrance to the Fern Valley Road Ford plant in Louisville. Sometimes you go somewhere and it does'nt seem like the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. At this place, I don't think the left hand even knew there was a right hand. It started with them saying my freight did'nt exist. 3.75 hours later, I had my freight.

A friend picked up today at a different UPS in Louisville. It did'nt take him as long to get his freight, but after getting it they said they did'nt provide Bills of Lading and did'nt even know where the freight was going! Makes you wonder how they managed to become as big as they are.
