“Do yourself a favor and forgive anyone that has anything against you. Do it as an act of faith and trust God to change and heal your emotions. Pray for your enemies and never say another unkind thing about them. It is the only way you can move past the pain and begin to heal.” Now that's a tough one. Try it.

If you don't mind me staying scriptural with this, we have examples.
1. Jesus asked His Father to forgive the people who were killing Him.

2. Stephen, while he was being stoned to death, asked God not to hold this against the people killing him.

Neither of these waited until their enemies repented and asked forgiveness, they just did it. Don't wait until the person that has wronged you says "I'm sorry", that day may never come and that's way too long to carry hurt inside you. Forgive them anyway, and make it God's problem about what to do next.
