transistion from driver to o/o

Just wondering whats the process from being a driver for a fleet owner to being and o/o?
I know you have to give your owner a notice,but then what?
and what if you've built a reputation with dispatch, will they know you or your old truck number, is there orientation for owner operators, how long can I expect to be out of service through this transistion?

Just paperwork for you, as you have already been through Orientation but I may be incorrect but doubt it. In all fairness if your Owner has treated you fairly than why burn the bridge, he may be able to help you again. If he has been the opposite than give him his truck back a quick hand shake and good bye.

Read over any agreement you have with him if your not happy with how you have been treated as you do not need any problems later. Good Luck you should do well with your new decision.

Since you've already chosen a carrier, contact one of the recruiters for them. They can give you the correct & current info that you need. Good luck to you!
