Thinking of geting into expediteding, I am a CDL holder and I have a clean record. I have drove tractor trailer for the last ten years in and around chicago Ill., on a part time basis. I live 60 miles south of chicago on I57. Have been thinking about buying a van or a D unit and going on my own. I ran into a expediteder that lives in a town next to me he owns a 1998 GMC van and is leased to Tri-State. He is wanting to sell me the van and get out of the biz. (he has a good oppertunity to do something else that he can't refuse, if it works out.)He was good enough to show me his books and how things work. I found this web site and started doing my homework. and I still don't what to do. so here are a few Questions.
1) Is buying a van with 250,000 miles for under 9,000$ good or bad? The van has good records.
2)Is Tri-State a good place to start? from what I can tell there rates are low but they keep you going. Or for were I live should I be looking for another company. If so witch one?
I have alot more to ask but I have rambled to long now.
