The Trump Card...

If You Own Gold and Silver, Love Trump. If You Own US Dollars, Not So Much

Since Trump took office on Jan 20, 2025:

Gold +87%
Silver +260%
US Dollar -11.2%

Reasons for the surge include the high-tension geopolitics Trump has created with his trade wars, imperialistic impulses and military adventurism.

Also, central banks in numerous nations (including the US) are stockpiling gold. That demand is helping drive up the price. They are reacting to the US currency collapse they anticipate or see as already underway. They are also preparing for the day when the US dollar loses its status as the dominate reserve currency which it has enjoyed since WW II.

Times change. Things change, And in these times, Trump is a change agent that is accelerating the dollar's decline and prompting people and banks to trust gold more.

State-Sponsored Violence

As an interested investor, I frequently watch interviews of foreign investment analysts. Today I heard something shocking as one of these analysts was interviewed by Bloomberg. This was not a political interview. It was about the global economy.

As he ticked through the usual list of economic and geopolitical factors, he casually included "state-sponsored violence in Minnesota," just like those folks do when talking about it in Iran or other countries where you see unaccountable troops murdering or arresting citizens outside the law.

That's an extreme characterization, I first thought. But not for long. I lived and worked in Minnesota for many years. Not wanting to unquestionably believe the news reports we see in Florida, I asked my friends for their personal reports. They confirm that masked troops without ID are raiding homes with questionable warrants, roughing up, arresting and even killing people; far beyond what a legitimate police officer would ever consider.

Trump and his ICE troops are analogous to Hitler and his SS troops.

This cannot continue. It will not continue. I'm proud to see Minnesotans rise to fill the streets in protest.

Minnesota Republican Drops Governor Bid, Cites "retribution on the citizens of our state"

"I cannot support the national Republicans’ stated retribution on the citizens of our state," Chris Madel said in a message posted on social media Monday ... "Nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so." ...

"Operation Metro Surge has expanded far beyond its stated focus on true public safety threats. United States citizens, particularly those of color, live in fear. United States citizens are carrying papers to prove their citizenship. That’s wrong." (Source: Fox News)

This can’t be a serious post. Be better.

When a US president attacks innocent US citizens with masked, unidentified, armed troops, that's about as serious as anything gets.
Your premise is wrong. ICE is being attacked. And the Minnesota government isn’t doing their job to protect their citizens.

Trump to "De-escalate a Little Bit"

"President Donald Trump said his administration was 'going to de-escalate a little bit' in Minnesota, after the second fatal shooting of a US citizen by federal immigration officers there.

'Bottom line, it was terrible. Both of them were terrible,' he said in a Fox News interview on Tuesday." (Source: BBC)

He may de-escalate but the people will not stop protesting and they will not forget. The Minnesota optics and Trump's lies will haunt Trump forever and define his legacy. The Republicans are going to be destroyed in the 2026 mid-term elections. While it will take a generation to repair the damage this Hitler wannabe has done, the constitution will survive his attempt to subvert it.

I can't do anything to correct your intentional blindness. I can rise to join the millions of Americans now calling to abolish ICE and hold those with ice who committed crimes accountable for their deeds.

Even in places where there have been no ICE incidents, putting armed, unidentified, and masked "law enforcement" troops on the street is unAmerican and abhorrent.

Also, things with ICE in Florida are not as proper and orderly as you suggest.

Facility / IncidentResponsibilityControversy Details
Krome North Service CenterICEPopulation tripled in early 2025; 14 major violations found in late 2025 inspection, including medical neglect and detainees sleeping on floors.
Broward Transitional CenterICE (Private Contractor)Reports of medical neglect for chronic conditions (diabetes/HIV) and physical abuse by guards during bus transfers.
Baker County Detention CenterICE (Contract with Sheriff)Hundreds of civil rights complaints alleging medical neglect, racial slurs, and "hogtying" of detainees.
Federal Detention Center (FDC)ICE (Federal Bureau of Prisons)Reports of detainees being forced to eat while shackled with hands behind their backs in early 2025.
Custody DeathsICE32 deaths recorded in ICE custody during 2025, the highest number in two decades, including at least two in Florida facilities.

US Dollar Slides to 4-month Low on Efforts to Boost Japanese Yen

Can someone please explain how using US assets and powers to prop up a foreign currency and thereby weaken the US dollar is "America First?"

Why is an "America First" US government even concerned about the Japanese Yen? Why is our government preparing to undergird Japan's banks and people?

Why do you care that ICE is masked? They are being doxxed and personally threatened. Do you approve of that?

It must have something to do with the Trump Crime family having holdings in those nations.

Of course I do not approve of any one being doxxed or personally threatened. But answer me this. Why do legitimate police officers wear name tags, have badge numbers, and keep their faces unmasked? What's different about ICE that inspires them to unprofessionally patrol the streets and raid homes as secret police? Why do they need to hide their faces when real police officers don't?

Shake your head all day.
As the Trump strongman myth collapses, and his law-breaking loyalists are brought to justice, there is going to be a lot of head shaking under those red caps, and a lot of those caps will be burned.
