The Trump Card...

That is fantastic news for Trump and Trump wold! Great Joy! Let MAGA and QAnon all rise to proclaim once again that Trump was right!

We are certain to hear from this witness very soon right? We're certain to see the memo soon right? We are certain to see these presented to a judge in court under oath any day now, right? We can't wait! What a glorious day that will be!

P.S. I'm surprised there is just one witness and one memo. A man with Trump's powers could create 100 more just by thinking them, could he not?
Oh. Lookie here.

While Biden’s economy is wrecking havoc, Trump folks are still having a blast at his rally.

There are others, including myself, see this as a refreshing application of the rule of law on a group of people who had little regard for it.
No doubt that liberals everywhere are "refreshed" by more legal harassment of Trump and his family. It remains to be seen if it's a legitimate application of the rule of law. Getting an indictment is a pretty low bar, but getting a conviction is something else. After spending years and millions on investigations the Democrats told us they had Trump dead to rights on collusion with Russia. We all know how that turned out. Yet after years of countless allegations and accusations, Trump remains innocent of any crime.

Just wrecking havoc!
Employment at historic highs. Employers can't hire enough, fast enough, but there is havoc everywhere.

It is the Left’s form of entertainment nowadays. As long as Trump is being continually harassed by various frivolous investigations, they are satiated because it diverts them from thinking about the epic fail of Biden’s economy that showcases skyrocketing food and energy prices and plunging 401k’s as the recession dives much deeper.

It's Getting Real for Rudy

Judge: “The defendant [Giuliani] has chosen not to submit any proof to this court,” Katz said. “Unfortunately, I’m constrained to find him in contempt.”

This saddens me. Once widely respected as "America's Mayor," Giuliani now stands tainted by Trump, burdened with lawsuits, a officially in contempt of court, and days away from being jailed in the city he once led. It has been suggested that Giuliani may in arrears with his settlement payments to his ex-wife because he does not have the money. He was making the payments before but has stopped now.

What happened to America's Mayor? How did such a great man fall to such a low state?

Granted, rising food prices is a serious problem. As far as the rest, while the fear of recession is very real, we are not there yet.

Inflation right now stands at 8.3%, the highest since 1982 and predicted to rise in the coming months. No doubt the voters in deep blue northeastern states will be thinking about Biden's energy policies when they pay their heating oil bills this winter.

Oh. Lookie here.
Yes, you've directed our attention to this photo before. But why has Trump not presented the pictured document as evidence in any court of law? Maybe the reason is the document is not legitimate? Maybe the reason is the document in and of itself was not sufficient or not effective to do what Trump claims it did?

If the document is legitimate, I honestly don't know why Trump has not presented it in court. I do know he has produced little else (beyond hot air) to back Trump's declassification claim. And I know the courts have clearly declared the classified documents in question to be classified and treated as such. "As such" means they are not Trump's property, he is not authorized to have them, and they can be used as evidence in an investigation that is permitted to continue.

So you can post this dubious photo all you want but it does not change anything. If you don't believe that, test that yourself. Repost that photo three times here in this forum. Then check the news and/or court dockets to see if anything changes. This is an easy test to conduct that will cost you nothing to do. Go ahead. Repost that photo three times to see if anything changes.

Fact: The documents are classified and the investigation continues.

Two standards of justice once again. The DOJ is clearly misrepresenting the law.

You make a legitimate point, but evidence that crimes were actually committed is mounting. Let's not overlook the numerous GUILTY pleas that have been made by Trump operatives and GUILTY findings that have been made by juries in trials where Trump operatives have been charged. With the passage of time, various investigations have continued and prosecutors have been working their way up the chain. That's why we're seeing things we have not seen before, like the search of Trump's home and Trump sitting in person before the New York AG pleading the 5th hundreds of times.

When criminals feel the police closing in, they may consider that to be legal harassment too. But it's actually called a criminal investigation and things get increasingly uncomfortable for those who are said to have committed actual crimes.
Getting an indictment is a pretty low bar, but getting a conviction is something else.
Agreed. True in every case for every person under investigation.
After spending years and millions on investigations the Democrats told us they had Trump dead to rights on collusion with Russia. We all know how that turned out. Yet after years of countless allegations and accusations, Trump remains innocent of any crime.
Your last point is especially important. Trump is innocent until proven guilty. But that does not mean investigations are not proper or not able to be conducted with probable cause.

With the NYAG, probable cause landed in her lap when a Trump attorney publicly announced the fraud Trump, his children and others committed. That investigation culminated in the lawsuit we saw announced this week.

With the Mar-a-Lago search and related investigation, probable cause surfaced when the National Archives alerted DOJ to certain irregularities.

No question. They are indeed having a good time. And some of them are sending Trump their money too!

Gas prices are coming down. That drop is driven by a decline in energy prices worldwide. The previous spike in energy prices was attributed to Putin's war, according to those who trade in and follow the commodity markets. Food prices are partially affected by global warming, the effects of which are destroying some crops and cropland.

The U.S. economy is in a recession now. That's part of the continuous expansion/contraction economic cycle that has existed for as long as the economy has existed. What varies cycle to cycle is the severity and duration of the recessions when they come or the opposite when expansions come.

U.S. presidents have little power over the economic cycle. If you do an overlay of the parties in power on the chart of recessions and expansions, you will see no correlation between a political party in power and a given part of the cycle. In other words, through historic cycles, it is not true that one party presides over economic growth and another presides over economic decline.

At present, the U.S. recession is mild. Employment is unusually high given that we are in the recession part of the cycle. With inflation now a problem (caused by obscene levels of government spending in prior years, which causes the dollar to lose its purchasing power), the Federal Reserve Bank is hiking interest rates and shrinking its balance sheet. That will have a negative effect on employment, making the recession worse.

Inflation is bad. Unemployment is bad. At present, the Fed considers inflation to be the most harmful of the two. So they have prioritized fighting inflation. They do that knowing that using their inflation-fighting tools (higher rates, tighter balance sheet) will slow the economy and reduce employment.

This is an intentional and announced Federal Reserve Bank policy. More economic pain is coming and anyone paying attention knows this. The Fed could take the opposite stance. They could print more money like they did before, but they are not doing that now because they know the consequences of that are too much for the world to bear (the collapse of the U.S. Dollar).

A certain amount of economic pain exists in the U.S. now. more is coming.

While economic cycles are more powerful than any president or political party, one thing is constant. When economic pain is felt, the party out of power is quick to blame the party in power. And while a whole lot of people lose themselves in that debate, the ones who understand the economic cycle position their assets and conduct themselves to posper.

While the article you cite comes from a reputable publisher (Market Watch), I strongly question its content. The government agency that reports our place in the economic cycle (recession/expansion) has said we are in a recession now. So far the recession is mild and employment is surprisingly high, as the article states. But that writer's rosy outlook is unjustified, methinks.

Big companies are announcing big layoffs. Global transportation provider FedEx recently revised its guidance to say a global recession is expected. Stocks plunged on that news. Big companies are revising their earnings projections downward. The Fed is hiking rates and shrinking its balance sheet. They are intentionally slowing the economy to beat back the super-scary and new inflation numbers.

We are in a recession now. It is mild. And things are going to get worse.

Ok, so maybe we are there, but it's without havoc, as some preach. To continue to do so, is just fear mongering.

Your inflation info is correct and the super-high inflation rates are both new and alarming. So much so that the Federal Reserve Bank has become willing to create unemployment by raising rates to slow the economy to fight inflation. Inflation is now ignited because of the trillions and trillions of dollars of free money the government printed and distributed in recent years.

Nothing about this is good. There is no painless way to bring things back to more stable times. We had our fun with free money as the government printed trillions of new dollars to give away in the Trump tax cut and covid relief. We're starting to pay the price now and there is more to pay ahead.

You and I both know that the HAVOC!!! cry will be loudly made from now to election day and beyond. That's what all candidates and parties do. They scare people about the present state of things and hold themselves out as someone who can make things better if elected.
