The hobby that pays

Being mostly retired I looked into hobbies. Golf, tennis, bowling, billiards and many others all have expensive entry fees and expensive participation fees. Then I found the hobby with zero start up expense and zero participation expense. It actually pays me to participate. Find veterans and thank them for serving. Today, among others, I visited with a nice gentleman, 86 years young, who enlisted in 1946 and served through 1974. The best payback is often when a spouse is with them. The smiles and the handshakes are a great reward. It's a great new hobby that can be enjoyed anywhere.

I visit a friend of mine at the assisted living a few times a month. He is a ww2 guy, but his cousin was in the North Atlantic on a small carrier with 24 planes --F4U Corsairs, they would look for German Submarines. Lots of stories there.

Thats what our all volunteer non profit does everyday using music for therapy. There is nothing better than helping them, thanking them and hearing their stories. Keep it up.
