This was on MSNBC today: one of Andrew Lester's grandsons indirectly blaming Fox News for inflaming his grandfather's racism. Lester's attorney must have had a cow when he saw this. This stupid kid just made a bad situation worse, and MSNBC was glad to oblige. You can't make this stuff up.

This fellow was on CNN and interviewed by Don Lemon saying similar stuff. Not only is his grandfather being unfairly prosecuted due to public pressure, but he has put him in jeopardy of being charged with a civil rights hate crime because of his public comments.
I say he’s being unfairly prosecuted because Missouri has a stand your ground law and one of the criteria to use deadly force is an attempt at an unlawful entry. There were no witnesses to the shooting other than the teenager, Yarl and the shooter Lester.
Mr. Lester said that Yarl was pulling on the door handle and thought he was attempting to break in. It comes down to he said, he said. Evidence of fingerprints on the handle are inconclusive and investigators can’t rule out him touching the door handle. A jury would have to convict beyond a reasonable doubt that Lester shot him for a different reason other than Yarl pulling on the door.
His grandson’s comments will only make it less likely that Lester has a fair trial and will prejudice a jury pool.
His comments would not be admissible at trial either.
