Hi everyone, I’ve spent the last 6 months testing different internet setups for my long hauls across the USA. We all know how frustrating it is when the truck stop WiFi drops during a FaceTime call home.
Here’s my quick breakdown of what I’ve found:
Phone Hotspot/Roaming: Convenient, but kills your phone battery and gets throttled after a few GBs. Expensive if you cross borders.
Local Physical SIMs: Cheapest data, but a pain to swap cards and activate every time you enter a new zone.
The "No-SIM" CloudSIM Technology (What I use now): I recently switched to a device called IotesimGlo.
Why it works for me:
Multi-Network: It automatically grabs the strongest signal (AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon) without me doing anything.
Plug & Play: No activation BS. I turned it on, and 15GB was ready to go.
8 Devices: I can run my ELD, tablet, and laptop at the same time.
I did a speed test in a "dead zone" in Nebraska yesterday and got 25Mbps down. Not bad at all.
I am not selling these products; rather, having found them to be excellent after using them myself, I am sharing my experience—and you can receive a device for free. if anyone is looking for a reliable backup. Does anyone else have experience with CloudSIM tech? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Safe travels!
