Temp-conrolled box questions & advice

Just wondering, on a D unit, would the investment in a reefer box be worth the possiblity of more runs?

As a rule, do the carriers offer dry loads to the reefer units as well, or do they keep them available for only refrigerated loads?

I assume (which I should never do) that the temp-controlled loads pay more - is that so?

I also noticed a truck for sale with an underfloor unit instead of the high-mounted front unit. Are they any better/worse/ or no difference?

To this day I have not known any expediter with a reefer setup to get enough additional work out of the reefer to make it worth it. If someone has, please let me know. It is just another expensive, heavyweight useless burden to carry around on an expedite straight truck as far as I can see.
