I was just wanting to know opinions on The Sterling Actera for a D-Unit.I have never been around them so I don't know about comfort, reliability, resale etc. I don't really want another FL80.:+ :+

If you are talking about an Acterra from FL Knoxville you are talking about an excellent truck. They are very well appointed and laid out and very comfortable. They now are making them in both a single large bed h/w model and a double bunk team model. They are high quality and reliable trucks. For a solo operator it should give many years of good service. For a team it would give several years but of course they will be using it up at almost twice the rate of the solo.

The only things I can caution about are Sterlings use some proprietary filters and not everywhere has them for routine pm's so you need to carry a set of filters with you. Also, the Mercedes engines have fewer certified mechanics so you may wait a little longer for someone who can service it. The Detroit Diesel shop near Claycomo, MO does excellent work.

Leo, Thanks for the reply. This is a 2001 with a Reman. 3126 Cat 0 miles and has a Allison 6sp. Auto in it. 72" Bentz sleeper. I know with a used truck you never know. I was just wanting to know about Sterlings track record and to get peoples input.:+ :+

You shouldn't have any problem finding a mechanic for the Cat. Just be sure you at least have the secondary fuel filter that's a Sterling filter, if that model uses it.

Hey Dan, You are talking about the very same Truck now have. It's a great truck. Good Fuel Mileage, Preforms well in the Mountains with 12k on it. I can't say anything Bad about it. Mine has 312K and still running strong. Same Cat Motor and Trans. You will do very well with it if the Price is right..Good Luck.....Butch :) :) :)

FlameMerc, Sounds as if you like your truck. I am torn between the Acterra and a T300. I have owned KW before and have always had good luck with them. But I have heard good things about the Acterra and it has a bigger cab. :+ :+
