I have the chance to run hot shot freight for a local company in my home area instead of being an owner operator leased to panther. i intend to offer a lower rate per mile with all money going to me instead of giving Panther half of it. If anyone has done this, please let me know if this is the way to go.

Yes I've done just that. I don't know if doe.mouse is giving you any adivce or just repeating something he or she heard on the CB radio. Sure wasn't any words of encouragement.x(

It all depends on a number of things: your weight, loads type of truck, where you are going, ect.
