Thursday before last started the truck with a noise well I did not like at all.

All that cold temp probably did not help me out much either. Got back home took it right into my shop and helped get it out took it to a Starter shop one hour later, new Bushings and a Cylinoid (spellling?), was told good thing I brought it in as nothing to serious but only a matter of time.

How much time? For those of you with more expierence than I, my only expirence with starters is I have never had one go slowly either they do or do not work. I was given a repreve I guess, I fugured the cost could have gone this way.

Lost load from NY to El Paseo $3,000
Hotel for two nights in NY area $5,000 no let me take that back $160.
Road side service call $250.
Screwing over fee (seriously) $700
Incidentials $150.

Actual cost pull starter and install $175
Rebuild charge including tax $179
I am so pleased with the way this worked out considering, and to boot I am at home getting picked on relentlessly by my daughter. I guess I have been gone to long.

Many drivers have discussed the "rap." This is a lifesaver. When the starter does not work, you crawl under the truck and give the starter a sharp rap with a wrench. Don't laugh, you'll get that one more start 9 times out of 10. -Mudflap-
