Sprinters

I've got a 97 FL 70 thats on its last leg. I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on how sprinter's do. Especially interested in anyone on with Panther, my company now. I've seen quite a few of them around and they look pretty roomy. I would love to chuck the log book, reduce my expenses and still make a living.
Can anyone help?

Great question! So many are looking at downsizing, in part to fuel prices and higher costs. You are going to read of many happy owner operators in "B" units and the Sprinter is a pretty cool ride! They did have an EGR valve problem and some other little glitches that I would assume have been resolved by now. you can make a living and like any other part of the business, you get out what you put in. I won't talk about money here and your recruiting department can tell you what to expect. I've heard of many operators generating 80 to 90 thousand a year and there having fun! Good luck and let us know how your business decision works out?

You can "search" thru these forums for "sprinter" and find quiet a few posts on them, and they are very informative.

Have a good day !!

I am driving a 2002 Sprinter, local delivery stuff/cincinnati ohio.
anything specific you want to know? I will be hitting 200,000 miles soon. Getting 24.5 MPG Very Happy with it. Hard to find good Sprinter Mechanics though. (Marshall Dodge in Covington., is good right at 12th st exit off of I-71/I-75)

The Sprinters are still having egr valve problems. Also many are having transmission problems and injector problems.
The worst problem is that most dealers are not carrying parts which at best means overnight freight charges or at worst waiting weeks for a part to be shipped over from Germany.

The EGR problem is only here in North America. Its part of the pollution control system here because we still use dirty diesel fuel. It can be safely disconnected if theres a problem.
